This two-day watercolour painting workshop is best suited to complete beginners and those who are getting back into painting after a long hiatus. It will cover a range of fundamental techniques that are beneficial to new watercolour artists.
On Day 1, you will be introduced to watercolour materials and a recommended studio setup. We will explore tonal values, water control, and create a series of small abstract studies to practise these techniques.
On Day 2, we will explore colour mixing, layering and blending techniques in order to create form. You will apply the lessons learnt from the weekend on a small watercolour study to take home.
There will be demonstrations and one-on-one guidance throughout the weekend. All required painting materials will be supplied. There will be an hour lunch break in the afternoon on both days.

Your teacher is Sheng Yi Lee, who has been teaching since 2017. You can browse her work on Instagram @shengyi.lee.
Watercolour has been the most challenging medium for Sheng Yi to learn, and this workshop is structured around the key techniques and tools that have helped her become confident at incorporating watercolour into her professional practice.

If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
- A refund can be requested 2 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 2 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
